Yuyutsu

The only living son of Dhritarashtra after the war of Mahabharata

Many people believe that all sons of Dhritarashtra were killed in Kurukshetra but in reality, there was his one son who was among the 11 warriors who survived the war of Mahabharata. Yuyutsu was his name. But how did he survived the war and not have been mentioned in limelight?

When Gandhari was unable to conceive for almost two years, instead of being pregnant, in frustration Dhritarashtra had a son with a vaishya varna Sugadha, who was lady in waiting for Gandhari. The son was born at the same time with Duryodhana (Gandhari's eldest son), so he was also the eldest in Kauravas. Though he was eldest, he never got any respect and recognition in the camp of Kauravas. In spite of being born in such disposed conditions, Dharma resided in his consciousness. He had a great knowledge of Dharma and War, he was also a Maharathi(capable of fighting 7,20,000 soldiers simultaneously.)

On many occasions Yuyutsu have saved Pandavas from the cruel intentions of Kauravas, he was the one who saved Bhima's life by informing Pandavas about the Duryodhan's cruel plan of poisoning water.
At times of war, he shifted from Kauravas camp to Pandavas and fought on their front and managed to stay alive till the end of war.
After the war was over and the reign of Kaliyuga started, he was made the king of Indraprasta.
Yuyutsu was a unsung hero, who always supported the right side. For establishing Dharma he went against his brothers and father.
Yuyutsu is the perfect example that we should stand for truth, irrespective of what the situations are.
